Uncertain future |
Description: |
This was a shot I took in the spring of 1986 looking west from the Soo Line high bridge after the railroad shut the line down and the rust was starting to slowly overtake the rail. This line would be out of service for about 1.5 years before the Wisconsin Central began to own/operate it in the fall of 1987. |

This is a follow up shot to the other shot at the high bridge, and I remember feeling quite, profoundly sad that this might be the end of this magnificent bridge as a rail route. There were 4 routes from the Twin Cities to Chicago, and did we really need them? Luckily, we did. |

This is looking north from Wisconsin into Minnesota on the Danbury Sub just a year or so before the tracks were removed to Superior. This is now about a 100 mile recreational trail. |
