Government Road/RR Bridge |
Description: |
We ran across just before a barge had to come into the lock. The bridge operator told us to run like heck if we wanted to make it before the barge! Notice the RR tracks above the roadway. |

I get my chance at a photo of the 261. |
Description: |
The crew talks with police because they wanted to move the train up so the passenger cars would actually be in front of the station, instead of the 3 locos, 2 tenders, and 2 crew cars. |

My all time favorite shot |
Description: |
My favorite shot, ever. Period. Nothing can replace the feeling of standing on an open grated bridge as a steam locomotive races towards you. I snapped this shot, then jumped out of the way so I wouldn't get smoked. Of course, the guy to the left of me runs around behind me and jumps right in. I guess it was a once-in-a-lifetime chance, and the ultimate souvenir. |
