Milwaukee 540 |
Description: |
Ready to leave on an early morning in July. The Mineral Point depot was built with native limestone in 1856 and is the oldest depot in the midwest. The Mineral Point & Northern leased the second floor for their general offices until the MP&N was abandoned in 1930. It has been restored as a museum with historically accurate displays of what the MP&N offices and Milwaukee Road agent/operator office looked like. There are many railroad artifacts and photos also.
