| Description: |
Although mislabeled by the photographer J.W. Stubblefield as a GP30, this EMD built GP-9 was delivered to the Nickel Plate in January of 1959 (builder #25082). Through the different mergers, it was renumbered NW #2804 and then NS 1474. Behind it is Wabash unit #557 originally delivered by Fairbanks-Morse to the Wabash in May of 1956. It was re-engined by Alco and renumbered 597. |

Originally numbered 902, this EMD GP30 was delivered to the Nickel Plate in July of 1962 (bldr #27903). Later it was renumbered NW 2902 and then NS 2902 before being sold to GMRY as their #30. At this transitional point in time, it appears to be wearing the Nickel Plate name but the NW number. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo. |
