Album Info:Here are five original photos that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains and property in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on 23 August 1961. All of these photos are actually color slides, which have manifested the dreaded "red shift." Rather than challenge a potential viewer's sensibilities with bizarre color schemes, I have converted all of them to black & white.

Description:  Harrisburg-1961. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on 23 August 1961. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #5761 and #5710. Both are EP-22's built by EMD in 1952 and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. They have just departed the Harrisburg Station with a Baltimore- and Washington-bound passenger train, and are about to cross the Susquehanna River via the Cumberland Valley Railroad Bridge near downtown Harrisburg. One of Harrisburg's hospitals is partially visible on the left. ("Red Shift" slide converted to Black & White.)

Description:  7th Street. Here is an original telephoto view that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during March of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2356, #2530, and another unit whose number is not recorded. #2356 is an EF-25 built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2530 is a GF-25 built by General Electrwc in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are passing under the 7th Street Bridge with a merchandise freight train on their way to Enola and points East. Visible in thd center distance, beyond the Bridge, are some of the PRR's 12th Street Shop buildings. This photo taken from the 4th Street Bridge.
