CP 4-6-0 #972 - Canadian Pacific
Description:
Here's another survivor of the steam era. Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in September of 1912, it was sold to George M Hart and ended working for Rail Tours Inc in January of 1966 after nearly 54 years of service to CP. Unfortunately, I believe this loco ended up on the Strasburg RR and sits in dire need of restoration. Specs - serial #51106, class D10J, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x28" cylinders, engine weight of 177,000 lb, tractive effort of 33,320 lb. . Paul Kuehner caught the loco while it was in Jim Thorpe, PA.
