BB 16 running the late dinner train down the Blue Ridge Grade |
Description: |
2.25.2024. Greenwood, VA. In the fading afternoon light, we find Buckingham Branch #16 on the point of this evening's Blue Ridge Flyer dinner train. Because the train had dealt with several waits for passing Amtrak and CSX trains, it was running late. Due to the lateness, the BB dispatcher instructed the 16 to make their return run-around at Crozet instead of Ivy, shaving about 30 minutes off of the return trip. The engineer jokingly responded that he was now to be known as the "Crozet Turn." |
