ATSF 2-10-2 #1629 - Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
Title:  ATSF 2-10-2 #1629 - Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
Description:  This good looking 2-10-2 started out as ATSF compound 2-10-2 #629 built by Baldwin in October of 1905 but at the San Bernardino Shops in November of 1921, the loco was rebuilt and simplified. It lasted until being sold for scrap on June 15, 1956 to the Purdy Company. Rebuilt specs - oil burner, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 28x32" cylinders, engine wt of 317,400 lb and tractive effort of 74,800 lb. Arthur B. Johnson photo

Title:  ATSF 2-10-2 #1605 - Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
Description:  Built by Baldwin in August of 1905 as a compound 2-10-2 Santa Fe type steam locomotive, the loco was simplified in the Albuquerque Shops in April of 1920. The loco remained active until it was sold for scrap to Finkelstein Supply Company on August 22, 1950. Rebuilt specs - coal burner, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 28x32" cylinders, engine wt of 323,400 lb and tractive effort of 74,800 lb. No photographer was listed for this photo.

Rebuilt specs - oil burner, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 28x32" cylinders, engine wt of 317,400 lb, tractive effort of 74,800 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo.
