BM GP38-2 #200 - Boston & Maine |
| Description: |
Built by EMD in February of 1973, Boston & Maine GP38-2 #200 soon stepped into the Bicentennical red, white & blue paint scheme for the Boston & Maine. It continued in service until the late 1980's when it was sold to Kansas City Southern, painted gray and relabeled KCS GP38-2 #4012. The battleship grey scheme which first appeared in 1988 was a step-up from the ghostly white livery previously worn by KCS locomotives and equipmen. BM F7A #4268 - Boston & Maine |
| Description: |
Ray Lackemeyer photographed Boston & Maine F7A #4268 as it sat by the the station at the North Conway Scenic Railraod. No. 4268 is a former Boston & Maine Railroad unit built in December of 1949 as BM #212 that arrived at the Conway Scenic in 1992. It served as a static display for twenty years to the North Conway Scenic property for years. Luckily, in April, 2022 after a restoration, it returned to active service. on the tourist railroad along with its sister BM 4266 owned by the 470 Club but used on the North Conway line occasionally. |
