Album Info:Th@s line was the Chicago & Alton, then GM&O, main until GM&O built the bypass in the 50's. The branch extends from Wood River to the Conagra plano. The northern end of the "old main" ROW is now US 67 to Godfrey. These are photos of recent/current operations.

Description:  The wann local approaches the last wigwag left on the old Alton main. The Indiana Avenue project took out the other holdout. This pair protected entrances to the glass works for the Chicago & Alton original main and the Big Fours branch to downtown Alton.

Description:  This wig wag at Indiana Avenue still works perfectly. You can barely see the the rails from the former CB&Q/Big Four r.o.w. where Indiana meets Broadway. An April 2008 update-this one has fallen due to road construction.
