| Album Info: | In March, 2007, two strings of old Midsouth locomotives were shipped on the UP to one of the NREX facilities for refurbishing and leasing.
I saw the NREX technician the first day he showed up. The engines were in the KCS Junction yard near downtown Shreveport. It is a haven for passing vagrants, and sure enough, when he fired up his air compressor three vagrants bailed out of the cabs of two of the engines.
I sat in the cab of one of these while they were filming a scene from the movie "The Cleaner" (the yet unreleased Samuel Jackson movie, not the Bernie Mac one). |
