Because of the track arrangement trains have to back into and out of the McGregor spur, which is actually a small piece of the Union Pacific line that ran from Moscow to Pullman. As a side note, although the conductor is not riding the shove, he is within sight distance and constant radio contact with the head end at all times during the move. |

For the past two years, a faux Southern Pacific F unit and a red and black GP30 have also been common sights in Moscow during the spring and fall. |
