Viewing Album:  TADs SMS moves a donation fire truck to an unloading ramp.

Album Info:Chicago area fire company Rutland-Dundee heard about the Moonachie, NJ fire company losing all their equipment from Hurricane Sandy, and offered to donate one of their 1984 Pierce pumper trucks. The move was handled by CSX to Morrisville, PA, then handed of to SMS Rail Lines so the truck could be driven off a ramp in Falls Twp., PA, and two fire captains from the Gilberts, IL fire company flew in to drive it from Falls Twp., PA to Moonachie. One of them drove the truck off the lot when it was brand new in 1984! Crane company Cranemasters donated their men & equipment that helped remove the truck from the flatcar. The truck arrived on a rainy Monday Dec. 17th, and was officially offloaded on a sunny Wed, Dec. 19th.
