It appears this locomotive received a replacement boiler (#10187) as the builder's number seen here does not match what the site railwayvillage.org showp. The following is from that site: Baldwin Steam Locomotive #14283 Built (April) 1895 for S. D. Warren Co., Westbrook, ME. Sold to Van Walsh, Hr., of Ridgewood NJ. Sold to Boothbay Railway Museum, 1969. 0-4-0T. Display |

Closeup of Boothbay Central Railway 1 builder's plate at Boothbay, Maine on an unknown day in August 1981, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. It would appear that this plate is on a replacement boiler for an 0-4-0T 36 gauge locomotive built in April 1985 for the S. D. Warren Company, which carried the original serial number 14283. So far, no records have surfaced for Extra Order Baldwin numbers. |
