PRR 9778, EF-15A, c. 1959 |
Description: |
Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of (L to R) Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9778 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9778 is an EF-15A constructed in February of 1951. Looks to me like this photo was taken from the last car of a train moving in the same direction. The photographer's name, the date, and the location are not recorded. Produced and distributed by FJC Products of Newport, Delaware. |

PRR 9656, EF-15A, 1965 |
Description: |
8th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 14 February 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #9656, #9650-B, and #9778. All are EF-15A's built by EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9656 and #9650-B were built in 1950, but #9778 was built in 1951. They are about to pass under the 8th Street Bridge into the Westbound Receiving Yard with a 94-car mixed-cargo freight train and N-8 caboose #478169. |
