Title:  BAR 4-8-2 #104 - Bangor & Aroostook
Description:  Caught by the roundhouse and turntable at North Maine Juntion in Heermon, ME, this mighty 4-8-2 Mountain type loco was built by Alco-Schenectady in October of 1929 (serial #68525). These relatively small Mountain type locos with small drivers were for low-speed freight hauling. The loco lasted in service until being scrapped in June of 1950. The entire M class of 10 was retired between 1950-53 with none preserved. Specs - class M, 62" drivers, impressive 240 psi boiler pressure, 22.5x30" cylinders, engine weight of 317,490 lb, tractive effort of 49,972 lb. Photo was obtained from the Henry O.
