Photo Caption: "Pennsy J-1 #6491 rolls north for lake port loading, just south of Bellevue, Ohio, with 85 Norfolk & Western hoppers on a hot humid July, 1949, afternoon." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6491, a J-1A (2-10-4) "Texas" built in Juniata during May of 1943 and retired in October of 1957 after just 14 years of revenue service. |
