Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken in East St. Louis, Illinois, c. 1967. Photo Caption: "EMD SD-45 #6144, 3600-hp, at East St. Louis, Ill." Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6144 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are EF-36's built by GM-EMD and rated at 3,600 horsepower each. #6144 was constructed in January of 1967 and, as such, was one of the last locomotives produced for and delivered to the Pennsy before the PRR-NYC merger on 01 February 1968. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-60). |
