Westing. Here is a photo that was published originally in Fred Westing's 1974 book entitled "Pennsy Steam And Semaphores," page 178. Partial Caption: "This was a publicity shot of the 'Broadway Limited' taken in September 1920, and shows the kind of engine Ollie Keller was driving at the time. Picture was taken at Cornwells, Pa., (now Cornwells Heights) opposite Michells Seed Gardens, and close to Cornwells interlocking tower, known as 'CO' and long since removed. Built by the PRR Juniata Shops in April of 1920 (serial #3712), this K-4s class 4-6-2 Pacific joined the ranks of the Pacifics that served as "standard" of passenger service locomotives. The loco lasted until being scrapped in February of 1956 after nearly 36 years of heavy use. J.R. Quinn photo.

Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #3768, #4046, and a pair of "I" Class (2-10-0) "Decapods" whose road numbers are not recorded. #3768 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during June of 1920 and retired in October of 1953. #4046 is a B-6SB (0-6-0) switcher built in February of 1924 and retired in August of 1950. In this context, the "Pacific" is departing the Station with a passenger train, the switcher awaits its next assignment, while the "Decapods" are powering a freight train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. Partially visible in the background are some of the PRR's 12th Street Car Shops. It's classic Altoona railroadin'!
