Title:  D&RGW GP30 3023
Description:  D&RGW GP-30 3023 westbound at Naperville, Illinois on September 2, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 3023 was built in February 1963 (c/n 28052) on EMD Order 7640 and was wrecked at Brown's Canyon, Colorado on September 22, 1970. It was repaired and lasted on the D&RGW until September 1995, when it went to Progress Rail, then NREX, then Cimarron Valley Railroad, becoming CVR 3023.

Title:  D&RGW GP30 3025
Description:  D&RGW GP30 3025 westbound at Loomis Street in Naperville, Illinois on August 5, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. I heard a horn unlike those on the CB&Q, so I ran into the house to get my camera, by the time I got back, the train was passing through and this is the best I could get. Number 3025 was built in February 1963 (c/n 28054) on EMD Order 7640 and was destroyed at Byers Canyon, August 7, 1982. This was part of a pooled power arrangement the CB&Q and D&RGW had in the 1960's.

Title:  Rio Grande GP30 3026
Description:  With a crewmember giving the unit a once over, GP30 3026 waits as part of a motive power set at Denver in January 1965. 3026 was built by EMD in February 1963. It would be sold to OmniTrax in 1994 and operated on the Central Kansas Railway. It would be placed in storage in 2000. In 2005, it was sold to Western Rail and moved to Washington state. 3026 was scrapped in 2012, still in Rio Grande paint.

Description:  SD45 5334, GP40-2 3125, GP40 3069 and GP30 3026 lead an eastbound AEPX coal train into the Tennesse Pass tunnel; 10,212 feet above sea level. Six more geeps are 30 cars back in the 45-car train. The helpers were added at Minturn, 20 miles away and 2400 feet lower; and will be cut out at the other end of the tunnel.
