Description:  Although the Alcos were retired before or on Thanksgiving Day 1979, some were kept in storage in case of any unexpected traffic surges. Alas, this old warhorse kept in reserve is waiting for a call to action that will never come. There's no evidence U33B no. 2897 turned a wheel under its own power past this date, either. Description:  A CR n/b makes its move through Stock while a s/b waits its turn. Stock was a busy place when freights were being moved off the Corridor to the former Lehigh Valley but at this time the rails towards Lane where I'm standing were still quite busy with Corridor bound freight. The catenary had been dormant for two years at this time.

Feedback from those who have seen this pic say that the switcher is most likely an EMD SW1200: "it appears to have a "flat top" style welded buffer, and I think I see aftercooler piping coils above the fuel tank" typical of SW1200's.
