Description:  Acccording to note attached to the photo by Jim Boyd, "C&IM #30 & #31 are the worlds only EMD RS1325's. They are in theory a small geep: in practice, an overgrown siwtcher. They have not been a resounding success as either a switcher or as road power: but whatever they are, they are thoroughally (sic) interesting." Specs - EMD, 1960, prime mover was EMD 567D1, 12 cylinders, 52'2" length, 10'6 7/8" width, 14'7" height, weight of 112 tons.

Description:  Chicago & Illinois Midland Railway RS1325 30 at Springfield, Illinois on an unknown day in July 1986, Kodachrome by Joseph R. Quinn, Chuck Zeiler collection. Nwmber 30 was one of only two RS1325 locomotives built. Numbers 30 ( c/n 25773 ) and 31 ( c/n 25774 ) were built in September 1960. Both survived for a while in the Illinois & Midland ( a Gennessee & Wyoming company that took over the C&IM ), but it appears that at least one has moved on the the Atlantic & Western.

Description:  On a hot summer afternoon, the daily eastbound freight of the Toledo, Peoria & Western Railway eases into LaHarpe, Illinois on 15 June 1992. Here it will interchange with the Keokuk Junction Railway, operator of the former TP&W Keokuk branch. The KJRYs freight waits to the right, using a rare (only 2 built) RS-1325 leased from the Chicago & Illinois Midland Railroad.
