Beautiful action shot of this Alco-Richmond 2-8-2 Mikado built in November of 1918 for the Chicago & North Western Rwy. A short note on back states "E.B. on Linn Co Rwy 10-15-43." Specs - serial #58393, class J, 62" drivers, 185 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine weight of 304,500 lb, tractive effort of 59,167 lb. A stoker was applied in October 1940. The class remained in widespread service well into the 1950s. Unknown photographer. |
