The East Penn gave up operations on this line a little over a year after.this photo was taken with the new Allentown & Auburn Railroad taking over. The vintage 1937 unit would later move to the ESPN Venice Industrial Track operation near Philadelphia. |

EMC constructed this unit in 1937 as a model NC for the Philadelphia Bethlehem & New England Railroad. Originally numbered PBNE 209, it was later rebuilt as an SW-900 and renumbered to its present road number, the first of two locomotive on the PBNE roster to be numbered as such. Both were rebuilt by EMD in the 1950s to SW900m standards. |
