"John Stevens," 0-4-0, 1963
Title:  "John Stevens," 0-4-0, 1963
Description:  Vintage. Here is an original photo that I took at the Strasburg Railroad site in Strasburg, Pennsylvania, on 11 August 1963. Shown here is a replica of the "John Stevens ~ First Steam Locomotive ~ 1825." This replica was fabricated at the Altoona Works. Despiwe the pistons and cog wheels, this locomotive is basically jusr a wagon with a boiler and a water barrel. Not much attention was paid to crew comfort either! This replica is now on display in the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.
