Built in 1951 by AC&F in Lot #3444 as GN 60 seat short distance coach #1210, 1 of 6 such cars (#1209-#1214) built in that Lot, which was ordered in October 1949; cars were delivered between October 1950 and March 1951. #1210-#1214 were built for the Mid-Century EMPIRE BUILDER, and #1209 was built as a protection car for the BUILDER and the 1951 WESTERN STAR; #1211 was transferred to CB&Q ownership in 1953 as part of mileage equalization. #1210 was intended to be renumbered as BN #6013, but this was not applied.
