| Illinois Central Gulf GP28 9430 was an unusual locomotive in several respects. It was one of only 13 GP28's on the ICG, one of only 24 ICG units painted solid orange, and one of only 31 GP28's built. The paper air filter, in front of the bell, was a later ICG modification. When photographed here at Covington, Louisiana it was making a very unusual appearance on the Shore Line Branch local. |
