FURX 8101         
Westbound manifest parked outside of the Dilworth Yard. This parked train let me take some test/tryout shots with my new Canon SD1000 (my regular railfan camera is a Digital Rebel XT), and the results were generally good. However, this one was shot at ISO 80, and there's an incredible amount of noise in the blue sky. I'm not sure if that's because I chose the Vivid color profile and it went insane or if it's the effect of the small PnS sensor, 7.1MP, and the new Digic III processor. Other shots of this same train (from different angles) don't have nearly as much noise, but there's still some there, especially when compared with shots from the XT...
