Two examples of EMD's last bulldog faces, the E9(A) are swarmed at LAUPT's 50th Anniversary. UP E9(A) #951 is displaying train numbers on her boards (for #104 the "City of Los Angeles"). No. 951 was one of 69 E9s owned by UP. Built in 1955, it was one of eight units retained when Amtrak took over passenger rail. It was retired in 1980, but reactivated in 1984 to stand in for 8444 which was at the World's Fair. |
