CB&Q U25B 105 westbound on the CGI at Naperville, Illinois on December 5, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was built in September 1964 (c/n 35199), became BN 5429, and was retired in July 1981. The CGI (Chicaago Grand Island) was an expedited freight train between Cicero, Illinois and Grand Island, Nebraska, and featured a pool of locomotives from the CB&Q and UP. It started in the late GP9 era (about 1960) and lasted (I believe) to the BN merger in 1970. |
