Railroad hired security guards of many types are prevalent across Mexico's railroad infrastructure. I have always found it helpful to carry some photographs and magazines to explain what we are doing as well as to give out. This preparation goes a long way. For the most part, it does not take long for them to figure out that we are not there to steal freight and there generally is no problem. After showing these four security guards some KCS articles published in Trains magazines with photos taken by Dan Munson, who was with us, these guys became quite friendly and argeed to pose for a shot with the KCSM "Monterrey Bypass" mainline in the background. |
