| Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad E7 9931B at West Burlington, Iowa on September 26, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was built in March 1949 (c/n 6501) on EMD Order E1006A, became BN 9912 sometime after the merger (March 2, 1970) and was sold for scrap to Hyman-Michaels on April 26, 1972. It is seen here undergoing repairs at the Burlington's West Burlington shops. The occasion was steam fantrip powered by 4960, celebrating the birthday of 5632, which was also undergoing repairs at West Burlington. Although 9931B would be returned to service, 5632 would not. |
