Mark Fryer General 7570 started life as a PRR GP9 and was rebuilt into a GP10 by Precision National, Mt Vernon, Illinois, to become Conrail 7570. Illinois Western aquired unit from the Dead Line at Altoona,PA sidelined with a bad Main Generator which IWRR rebuilt. 7570 was the last GP10 to run on Conrail as EMD 567 units were phased out. 7/17/2009 6:00:51 AM
Mark Fryer General 7570 is shown here on the tail end of the Hodgson Mill siding on the Effingham Rail Road [EFRR] a sister road to Illinois Western, hence the painting in EFRR colours like EFRR 2716 a SW1200. The other tracks in the photo lead into and around the TQW Warehouse and Ops HQ of EFRR. 7/17/2009 6:06:18 AM
