Firing a Steam Engine  Contributor's Pick!       
I was invited into the cab of the SLRG 18 just moments before they fired her up. The fireman took an oil covered rag, lit it on fire, and threw it in the firebox. This is the first time i've ever seen this done, so it was pretty cool.
