| Erie Lackawanna F7 7134 at about Lowe Park, around 47th Street and Normal Boulevard in Chicago in Illinois on January 9, 1966, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This unit was built in March 1951 as ERIE F7 807D (c/n 13210) on EMD Order 3074A, later becoming ERIE 713D, and when the ERIE merged with the DL&W, it was renumbered to 7134. As illustrated by this locomotive, the renumbering process was to replace the suffix letter A with a number 1 and the letter D with the number 4. You can figure out B & C to number conversions. |
