Running Through CSX Gentilly Yard
View from the cab of Amtrak P32-8 507 on the westbound Gulf Coast Limited as it rolls through the CSX Gentilly Yard. The train was unable to use the main line or the passing track because both of these were occupied by freights, so it is passing through the yard on 'ready track' RD2. The track on the right is RD1, with KCS No. 54; while the two tracks on the left are RD3 and RDT. The T is for TOTES, and this is where intermodal trains were assembled.
