| Running tender first, the Santa Fe 4-6-2 heads back towards Abilene with this afternoon's train. A lot of people don't like seeing steam engines run tender first, when in reality steamers ran backwards quite a bit on branch line operations when there was no turning facility at the end of the route. The train shown isn't a bad representation for a mixed freight of days gone by. |
