L&N SD35 4529 and a happy employee at Nashville, Tennessee on August 24, 1982, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Number 4529 was built in December 1964 as ACL SD35 1007 (c/n 29597) on EMD Order 7752, was renumbered to SCL 1907, then L&N 7027, then L&N 1281, then L&N 4529, then SBD 4529, then CSXT 4529. It was a smoggy day to be sure, and all these diesel locomotives at or near Idle were not helping, except for the 3rd far left track, which held a bunch of out-of-service locomotives, behind the three in-service locomotives on Track 4. I wasn't sure where I was in Nashville, I was there on a business trip and snapped a couple of photos on my way back to the airport. Thanks to Reed Reding (see Comment below) we now know this was shot from the Melrose Avenue overpass at the north end of Radnor Yard. |
