All 8 cars of the City Of New Orleans were damaged by fire after hitting the gas truck. The driver of the truck was also killed.

Bill Craig General The wreck occurred between about 9:00 AM. I was in a first period class at McComb High School, 7 miles away but we all heard the explosion. The McComb Enterprise Journal had many pictues that afternoon, including a very grizly one of a burned body of the one of the crew unloading the freight cars. 2/21/2024 1:29:26 PM
