From Josh Blevins -ALCO High Adhesion (Hi-Ad) trucks. Used on the C430 and some C415s. Designed as a replacement to the traditional AAR trucks used on most ALCO and early GE 4-axle units. The design was supposed to provide better traction and less rail wear.
