86' QUAD DOOR AUTO PARTS BOX CARS WERE DEVELOPED BACK IN THE 60'S TO CARRY LIGHT BULKY LOADS IN VOLUME FOR THE AUTO INDUSTRY. GENERALLY THESE CARS CARRIED FINISHED SHHET METAL PARTS LOADED IN RACKS AND LOADED WITH FORK LIFT TRUCKS. GENERALLY USED FOR HOODS, DOJRS FENDERS AND QUARTER PANELS, THEY WERE SEEN IN VOLUME IN SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN AND OTHER AUTO MANUFACTURING AREAS. THESE ARE SLOWLY BEING REPLACED BY CONTAINERS AS PARTS MANUFACTURING HAS SHIFTED US MArUFACTURING TO WORLDWIDE MANUFACTURING |
