My buddy worked 2nd trick here in the 70's. I spent many hours sitting in the tower watching trains. This shot looks like it might be a "sprint" train. NICE SHOT Mike, Thanks for the memory.

Never realized how tight those turns were, guess I can see why they got rid of the diamond.

Now this brings back a memory or two. This should be one of the "Roaring Nineties" as they were nicked. This is No 98. Thanks Mike.

Tom, At this time the diamond was the only path for Milw's to Hastings without coming against the current. It was Rule 251 keep left then. Today with CTC and big motors they can pull the grade and go right. Now Milw's(CP) have to. But I miss this.

Mike you stirred alot of memories with this one. Another comes to mind. One night about this time frame, passing inspection revealed a side door on a trailer flopping open with sacks of US Mail falling out. Train was stopped imediatley by radio before crossing Miss River swingbridge 1 mile ahead at Hastings. Appropriate phone calls were made and RR Police & US Postal inspectors were on scene quickly. The track was patrolled all the way back past Chemolite although 98 was delayed,ALL mail along the RofW was accounted for. That's why we inspect. I like this shot more each view. Thanks again Mike.
