When the Montreal & Occidental Railway built the line between St.Adele and St.Agathe in 1892, the grade was too high north of St.Adele and a horseshoe had to be built around the valley of the Doncaster and North rivers. Canadian Pacific and later on VIA Rail trains used it for the Train du Nord until the 1980s. Here is whats left of it, seen from the North. |
