Sixty-seat coach 6024 was originally Seaboard Air Line 6226, and subsequently Seaboard Coast Line 5211, Amtrak 5211 and Amtrak 6024. It was one of twenty 52-seat coaches built by Budd in 1947 for service on Seaboard Air Line trains between New York and Florida: twelve SAL, ten PRR and eight RF&P. One of the RF&P cars was retired in 1970, but all of the other cars went to Amtrak. This car was initially Amtrak number 5211, but Amtrak increased its capacity to 60 seats and numbered it 6024.
