Santa Fe 2-8-0 #1, the “Cyrus K. Holliday,” was originally Santa Fe 2-8-0 #132, built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in September 1880. In 1898 the locomotive was renumbered #912, and it was renumbered again in 1900 (to #2414) when converted to an 0-8-0, and renumbered back to #132 again in 1941 (when it was converted back to a 2-8-0). It became #1 (and named for Santa Fe’s first president and a founder of Topeka, KS, Cyrus K. Holliday) in the early 1960s for use as on operating display celebrating the Kansas State Centennial at the Kansas Free Fair in Topeka between June 15th and 25th, 1961.
