Richmond Shipyard Railway 563 undergoing restoration at the Western Railway Museum. The Richmond Shipyard Raiwlay was operated by the Key System during World War II using these ancient New York transit cars to shuttle workers to the Kaiser Shipyards in Richmond. The cars were originally pulled by steam locomotives on elevated lines in New York until they were electrified 1901-1903. There are only two left in existance both of which are at the Western Railway Museum. |
