The locomotive is an MC-6 manufactured by Baldwin in 1912. The MC-6's were assigned the road numbers 3029-3043. Espee had previously purchased Baldwin "cab forwards" in the following model designations: MC-1, MC-2, and MC-4 that go back to 1908. Thanks to Mark Redmond (and friend) for this info.

Mark Redmond General This must be an early version of the cab forward. Looks like it was modified. 7/12/2012 11:08:10 PM
Gary Everhart General I agree. Similar to SP4294 in the California State Museum but definitely has a cruder, more homemade looking cab on this one. And notice the trailing tender - unusual in its own right! 7/13/2012 5:55:25 AM
Robert Farkas General This is one of your best. It's an excellent shot of a rare locomotive. 7/13/2012 11:48:56 AM
Fred Stuckmann General what a piece of work. 7/15/2012 8:39:22 AM
James D Mehl General What great work of "Art"! 6/14/2013 8:23:34 AM
