ATSF 2837, now a genset
PURCELL OK Jan 29 1978 -- Santa Fe GP7 2837 and the a Track Geometry Scientific Testing Car 85 await the return of their crews. EMD built the 2837 (s/n 17648) in December 1952 and delivered it in zebra stripe. At some time before it was rebuilt it was repainted to yellow warbonnet. In March 1981 the Cleburne shops rebuilt it as a GP7u 2231 with a chop nose and an angled Topeka cab roof. It was transferred to BNSF on Sept 22 1995, patched BNSF and renumbered 1370. It was rebuilt to Green Goat GG20B 1211 with no control cab for use as a remote control platform in December 2005. It was then rebuilt to RP14BD Genset 1211 in June 2008.
