Alan Fricker General From the steps, and the man barely visible by the H12, and Fairbanks Morse spelled out on the locos, I'm wondering if this isn't a display at the 1948 Chicago Railroad Fair? 8/6/2012 9:31:42 PM
Eric Reinert General This could be at the AAR meeting in Atlantic City, NJ in June 1947. These units were there, and were renumbered in May of '48. The Chicago RR fair didn't open until July 22, 1948. The PA-1 powered American Freedom Train was in Atlantic City during this time as well. This could explain the eclectic gathering of locomotives in your group of photos. 10/29/2012 10:51:42 PM
Jeff Sechrest General Thanks for the information Eric. The other negatives in the collection that I aquired (non train related) are mostly from Atlantic city. 11/3/2012 3:39:54 PM
