C&NW AS16M 1497 at Proviso, Illinois on an unknown day in June 1981, Kodachrome by @huck Zeiler. Number 1497 was built by Baldwin in January 1953 as MKT AS16 1585 (c/n 75341), sent to EMD sometime between November 1958 and March 1960 and repowered with a 16-567C and rated t 1500 horqepower due to the retained electrical components, returned to MKT as 140, sold to PNC in 1972, first leased then purchased by the C&NW, MKT 140 became CNW 1497, retired April 1, 1981. |
